Eating disorder, mostly in young women, characterized by a failure to maintain body weight at a normal level because of an intense desire to be thin, a fear of gaining weight, or a disturbance in body image. Anorexia nervosa typically begins in late adolescence. In women a usual symptom is amenorrhea. A person with anorexia nervosa will often go to great lengths to resist eating in order to lose weight, and medical complications can be life-threatening.Treatment can include psychological and social therapy. Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Richie, Mary-Kate Olsen. These are three of the most famous celebrities thought about in recent times for being anorexic. Each one of these young women suffer or have suffered from eating disorders in an extremely public manor. The media coverage of these topics have been said to only make their journey's harder on the road to recovery. All three have younger audiences looking up to them in the movies, television shows, and magazine articles they star in creating the image that skinny is pretty. Nicole Richie stars in reality television shows, Lindsey Lohan stars in movies directed towards teenage girls, and Mary-Kate Olsen is famous for multiple television shows and movies targeted at young girls. These women become "thinspiration" for those trying to duplicate the stars unhealthy weight loss.
